This hasn't much to do with illustration instead it is a video portrait of me.

Little White Lies

Drawing I made for the Little White Lies magazine cover competition.

The assignment was to pick a movie from a given selection of titles and make a portrait of the main character.

I chose to go with Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy and made a portrait of Gary Oldman with eye measurement glasses (not sure if that's the correct term but how else would you describe it?).

I thought the orange and brown would give it more of a 70's feel. 

Een Rijk Alleen - Book illustrations

In January 2012 Niels Gerson Lohman's debut novel 'Een Rijk Alleen' got published in the Netherlands.
It's a wonderful coming of age story about some very heavy subjects but written in a light and sensitive way.
I got the pleasure to illustrate each chapter with a small black and white drawing and ended up making 34 illustrations.
Together with Niels I also created the book cover.
I aimed for the subjects of my illustrations to evolve along with the main character of the book.

Tampopo

Some sketches inspired on the amazing Japanese noodle western 'Tampopo'
A definite must see for lovers of Japanese food and handsome men in suits slurping noodles.

Next time instead of making sunny side up eggs for your lover in the morning you might want to try this out

instead of using the heimlich manoeuvre why not use a vacuum cleaner?

After drawing on Rika's pop up store window I was asked to make them an invitation to their new guest house Maison Rika

The Bloody Chamber

These are my submissions for the Folio Society illustration competition.
The book to be illustrated was The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter.
Lovely but very grim and poetic fairytales for adults.
The chosen stories were Puss in boots, In company of wolves and The bloody chamber.
So here are the illustrations for the short stories and the cover design.
