Best Forgotten Word Ever : Tittynope

The forlorn word tittynope is not being used as much as I would like and it needs some love and attention.
Tittynope refers to a small quantity of anything leftover mostly relating to food. (I hate that tittynope of biscuits in the bottom of my tea mug)

This is a very simple and short stopmotion explaining its meaning by the use of typography.

This time I made an illustration for this article, about the greatness of the novel Ulysses by James Joyce and how everyone should try to read it this summer by the pool.

An Idea a Day - Little Telescope

This time about a small telescope, no bigger nor more powerful than a high-end digital camera, has helped researchers discover two new planets. Read the article here.

Asthma Trust Commercial

A while back I was asked to create 30 images for the Dutch Asthma Trust, these images were used as props in a national tv commercial.
The commercial talks about the history of the Asthma Trust and their goals for the future like banning smoking on school grounds.
Its quite exciting to see your drawings as big as the people in the tv spot although normally I would have chosen different colours but I had to stick to the colour pallet of the Asthma Trust.

Have a look!

More new ideas

Since my last blog post I did some more drawings for Ideas Illustrated! Perfume designer Geza Schoen and fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld have created a scent that smells like “freshly-printed books”.  I chose book titles that could very well be names for parfumes. (some of them already are)
Read more about it here.

Ideas illustrated

The last 2 weeks I have been an intern at the design agency YCN's studio, a very inspiring and exciting place to work!
I have mostly been doing illustrations for their Ideas Illustrated blog where an interesting idea is posted daily. I get one day to work on each piece of work which is very challenging but a good exercise for me to work quickly and develop concepts in a short time period.

Here are a few of my favorites (you can see them all on the ideas illustrated blog)
Make sure you check out YCNs latest edition of Ideas Illustrated magazine, its packed with interesting ideas and beautiful illustrations.

Since successfully finishing my first year at Kingston University I was lucky enough to get an summer internship at the London based creative studio & agency YCN.
I will be working at their studio for the next month on various projects, one of which is making illustrations for their Ideas Illustrated blog  where each day an interesting idea is posted.

Here a welcome post from YCN on their talent blog!

Liliyang Accessories

Recently I had the pleasure to work with the team from the accessory label Liliyang  for their new campaign.
This is where I met Nathalie who has a blog called No No Coco and she  posted a really nice piece about me on her blog!

Other exciting news, the next fews weeks I will be working on a one of a kind piece for Liliyang where I will get to draw on one of their leather bags and card holders.
At the moment I have been doing research on what the best technique is to paint on leather which can be quite tricky but I am very much looking forward to this collaboration.

Have a look at Nathalie's blog here

One Minute Portrait

This hasn't much to do with illustration instead it is a video portrait of me.
Shot by the very talented photographer and film maker Dennis Swiatkowski (check his website here)
I love the moody colours and having beautiful London in the background.
